Arriving in Beijing: The nitty gritty of travelling

July 21, 2016

I’m writing this post on the train to Shanghai (and hoping the man sat next to me isn’t reading over my shoulder…). I’ve just finished my week in Beijing and whilst I was there, I had friends and family asking me when I was going to update my blog. I had every intention of posting … More Arriving in Beijing: The nitty gritty of travelling

Can I live here? (Or here, or here…?)

July 9, 2016

About a month ago, I read a book called ‘Can We Live Here?’ by Sarah Alderson. It’s a true story that follows Sarah and her husband as they quit their London jobs, pack up/sell everything they own and set out to find a new home in the world, with their three-year-old daughter in tow (dressed in a tutu). I won’t give … More Can I live here? (Or here, or here…?)

I’ve left my job to travel and tell stories!

July 3, 2016

World, hello again. If anyone still reads this blog (hi Mum?), sorry for the 4 month disappearance. Life and a touch of laziness happened but fear not, the dark days are over and I’m back with the time and will to write, plus things to write about. Hurrah. As the title of this post suggests, I’ve … More I’ve left my job to travel and tell stories!

World Refugee Week 2016: How you can help

July 1, 2016

Unless you’ve been living under a rock lately, you’ll know last week the UK held a referendum on its EU membership. Whilst the nation went into meltdown and friendships were temporarily wrecked, you might have missed something else. (Well, we all probably missed a lot of things). Last week was also World Refugee Week … More World Refugee Week 2016: How you can help

Rome: A Quick Guide

February 21, 2016

When we arrived in Rome with very little prior planning, we were bamboozled by food choices and things to see. With only 5 days there, we struggled to make my mind up! But fear not, with a bit of planning, you’ll have a great time in Rome, no matter how long or short your stay is. Here is … More Rome: A Quick Guide

The Weird and Wonderful Qatar

February 7, 2016

Let’s talk about Qatar. More specifically, it’s capital, Doha. I first visited Qatar in December 2012 and spent Christmas out there with my family as my dad lives and works in Doha. I also briefly went back in May/June 2015 on my way to and from Hong Kong. I’m going to say straight up that … More The Weird and Wonderful Qatar

Farewell 2015

January 17, 2016

2015 was definitely one of the fastest years I’ve had and was over before I knew it. Although it was a great year, I initially thought not an awful lot happened in it, but on reflection, a lot actually did! … More Farewell 2015

Paris: A whistle-stop winter tour

December 24, 2015

I’ve always been a city girl at heart and a lucky one at that, having a city as great as London on my doorstep. Paris is another vibrant global city, which, despite being only a hope across the English Channel for me, I’ve shamefully never visited until this month. Despite only the shortest of visits, … More Paris: A whistle-stop winter tour

London’s 5 best places for free festive cheer

December 22, 2015

It might only be a few days before Christmas but it’s not too late to cram in some extra festive cheer if you’ve been stuck in a busy office like me most of December and therefore in dire need of extra Christmas joy. For those living in London or those lucky enough to be on holiday here, … More London’s 5 best places for free festive cheer

Borough Market: London’s fresh food heaven

December 8, 2015

Hidden just behind London Bridge station is Borough Market; one of the city’s largest and oldest food markets. This maze of fresh produce and yummy treats is only a short walk away from my office but shamefully I’ve only made a handful of brief visits over the last two years. I decided this needed to … More Borough Market: London’s fresh food heaven

Sunset from top of the Arc de Triomphe! Top tip - wait around past sunset for when the Eiffel Tower sparkles on the hour every hour 😍✨ (Swipe to see) Another snap from my Paris adventure, May 2024 ☀️🇫🇷 Throwback to May last year. Getting up at 5am for this Parisian sunrise was such an arse-ache but worth it 😍 🇫🇷 More surreal looking nature from Iceland 🇮🇸 The deep fog all that day added to the mystical feel! Iceland has so many crazy varied landscapes and natural phenomenons for a country of its size. Definitely a photographer’s playground. The weather had been pretty bad my first four days in Iceland so it was such an unexpected treat to watch this gorgeous sunrise over the most southern point of the country 😍 Ever hiked a glacier?! I have! A definite 2024 highlight for me! ❄️🇮🇸 Iceland’s other-worldly landscapes were incredible. I’d love to go back in the summer one year too! Have you been to Iceland? Drop any recommendations in the comments 👇
