About me

Hello! I’m Emma – a 31 year old Brit with an itch for travelling, photography and story telling.

My travels started when I was a tiny tot. My dad was an airline pilot so I spent the first couple of years of my life being carted around as blonde curly-haired hand-luggage to all kinds of amazing places that I only wish I could remember. I also grew up listening to my dad’s stories about a world that was exciting, colourful, diverse and so easily explored. I got hooked early on!

My first solo trip was back to my ‘second home’ Hong Kong when I was 21. The following year, I took an amazing 3 month trip round Asia. After finishing my undergraduate degree in Politics & International Relations, I went back into full-time work in local government in London but then I had a massive post-pandemic-lockdown itch to travel and took a 5 month sabbatical for more adventures around Asia! I moved back to London in 2023 and set up home there (for now!) but I still find time for lots of adventures in between my day job.

As well as travelling, I’m also passionate about human rights and civil rights issues and I’m currently studying for a masters degree in Human Rights. I’m always looking to learn more and engage with other people about these important topics and I occasionally post about these on here.

I’m also a bit of a language nerd. Aside from my native English, I can speak/read various amounts of Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Japanese. I’ve dabbled in Korean, Arabic, Indonesian and Thai too, though with far less success…

If you want to learn more about me and see more of my photography, come find me on Instagram.

Thanks for coming by!
