The main draw of the Cameron Highlands is undoubtedly the beautiful green mountains full of tea leaves, which look like something lifted straight out of The Shire. I went to a tea plantation site myself, and it didn’t disappoint, but you’ll have to wait until my next post to see all those photos!

This post I’m going to share some of the photos I took on my walks around where I was staying. (I stayed at the Cameron Highlands Resort – check out my blog post on it). It’s not surprising that the only way to get around this part of Malaysia is by taxi, meaning I felt a little stir crazy! I’m someone who likes to up and go wherever they want, whenever and walking suited  me just fine. (However, you can hire a taxi driver for a whole day for a reasonable price and he’ll take you wherever and whenever but I like to be under my own steam 🙂 )

The roads in the Cameron Highlands aren’t exactly designed for walking, with very few having any pavement, but I gave it a go to see how far I could get. I was definitely the only tourist walking around this area so it was nice to some ‘unfiltered’ parts, no matter how ordinary the locals might perceive these to be. There weren’t many locals around either so it did feel pretty eerie! Perhaps they were all sleeping in because it was a Saturday…
